Frequently asked questions
What is the Horizon Platform Bed made from, and how does that affect daily use?
The Horizon Platform Bed is crafted from solid hardwood (cherry, maple, or walnut). This gives a sturdy, durable frame that supports mattress foundations well, with natural grain patterns that age gracefully.
How should I care for this bed’s eco-friendly oil finish?
An eco-friendly oil finish protects the grain and enhances depth; to care for it, wipe with a soft cloth to remove dust and avoid harsh cleaners that could strip the oil.
Which wood option would suit a traditional or contemporary bedroom best?
Cherry, maple, or walnut each brings a distinct character: cherry offers warmth, maple lends a light, clean look, and walnut provides a richer, darker tone to fit various styles.
How does this bed fit with other furniture in a Vermont-made, solid-wood collection?
As a solid hardwood platform bed with a clean Arts and Crafts silhouette, it pairs well with other natural wood pieces that emphasize craftsmanship and simple, timeless lines.
Who would this bed be a good fit for, and who might prefer something else?
It’s ideal for those who value handcrafted, durable wood furniture with a timeless look. If you want a lighter frame or a more decorative headboard, you might consider alternatives in the collection.
What setup or assembly considerations should I know for solid mattress support?
The bed is designed for solid mattress support; ensure your foundation and mattress are compatible with a platform-style frame for optimal stability and longevity.
